Welcome to A Vampiric Legacy where the founder, spouses, heirs, and spares are all vampires. If you'd like to read a specific chapter, simply click on the appropriate button below the chapter name and the pictures will load. Keep in mind that these chapters will be about 80 pictures long. To preempt possible loading problems, I'll offer the full version of each chapter as well as a segmented version. Each segment will be up to 50 pictures long. If you have loading problems, you can always visit my Sim Page as an alternate option (It's linked in the bar on the right). As of now, I'm planning to upload each chapter over there as well. If you have any suggestions please leave a comment. Thanks and enjoy the story.
Chapter 1: "The Turning"
Hey everyone, I'm 8NiSci8 and I'd like to welcome you to my Vampiric Legacy. I just received the Late Night expansion pack for my birthday, so to celebrate I thought I'd start a new Sims 3 legacy. I still have an apocalypse in progress (by in progress I mean the prologue is uploaded and the second half of chapter 1 is still waiting to be written), but for now, I'm putting that on hold. I want to enjoy the new features of Late Night and a legacy is simply more adaptable to a new expansion pack than an apocalypse. The twist in this legacy will be two fold. First, I'll dive right into the new bloodline option and 'turn' my founder (hence the legacy name). Second, my simself, himself, will be said founder.
Finally, if you don't already know, this is the new town, Bridgeport, minus the Butterfly Esplanade (it used to be in that large green space at the bottom right, but as I needed a proper legacy lot to live in, it had to go). Anyway, without further ado, let the legacy begin!
Oh, and I'm also using Aaroc's Ambition legacy rules. A link to them can be found at the end of this chapter.
So starting with practically no money, this is all I could afford. In the old base game days, this would have upset me, but having played through several expansion packs, I now know the beauty of being able to travel into town. The gym is a bathroom away from home, so I need not worry about expensive purchases like bathtubs for now.
This is my simself, 8NiSci8. He's a Lucky, hopeless romantic, whose got a good sense of humor, star quality, and is family oriented. His lifetime want is to be a superstar actor and in case you were wondering, he's a Sagittarius. His favorites are tri-tip steak (which we'll pretend is filet mignon), pop music, and the color blue.
Now that that's out of the way, I can move on to the handicaps I've chosen. I'm going for *drum roll* five handicaps! Before you think I'm crazy, most of them are pretty easy ones. Admittedly, I'm just trying to find an easy way to squeeze some extra points out of this thing.
First is Fearless where my sims must fix their own malfunctioned electronics and are never allowed to purchase a fire or a burglar alarm. Second is Storyteller where each heir (and I'm assuming founder) except the last must complete one novel per generation and 'real me' must upload at least one chapter per generation. Third is Random Traits where I randomize all of the traits of my founder's descendents (which I was planning on doing anyway, so yay for extra points!). Fourth is Don't Bite Off More Than You Can Chew where I get a bunch of points if I make it to the end without breaking any of these handicaps. And finally, fifth is...
...Family Tattoo, which is why I have that platinum plumbob on my hand (it also serves as a reminder of what I'll strive for)*. I don't like tattoos in real life** (on me, on other people they're fine), but since this is the Sims and I get an extra point if everyone in my family has the same tattoo, I'm sucking it up!
*I forgot that there are no platinum plumbobs in The Sims 3, so it'll be a metaphorical goal.
**In case you were curious, it's because I feel they're too permanent, which I know is the exact reason most people get them. I do like the temporary ones, though. ;)
Well, now that I've spent a good 500 plus words explaining everything, it's time for me to get my job. Let's go Eve, drive me to the studio!
Ok, so a few promotions later, I built this lovely cottage to live in...
I wish! It's still day one and I'm just touring the back lot at the studio. I was hired as a Backstage Extra, but I don't start work until tomorrow. Hmmm. what should I do in the mean time?
Call Eve, so I can check out some of the new clubs of course!
"Hey 8NiSci8, where would you like to go this time?"
Well this is called a Vampiric Legacy, so let's go to Waylon's Haunt, the vampire bar.
I know it's the middle of the day, but happy hour's at six (which is in two hours) and I can make some friends until the vampires show up.
"Oh my gosh! 8NiSci8! I heard you're the founder of a new legacy in our very own town. Can you please be a Blockette with me?"
A Block-what?
"Blockette. It's the name of the band I've always dreamed of creating."
Well, umm... I guess...
And so 8NiSci8 and the Blockettes* played their first (and probably last) gig as I intend to be an actor, not a musician.
*Lala Angelista on the cello, Jun Xu on the guitar, Ace Wilde on the drums, and of course my simself on the piano.
"Man all that cello playing sure made me hungry."
Jun, I know those glasses are the kind with mirrors on the side, so you can see behind you and I don't think the owner's would appreciate you scoping out their mounted fish as your next meal.
"Hey, are you a member of the Blockettes?"
What? Oh, umm... yes.
"That's so cool!"
Oh, umm... yeah. Listen, if you serve me the drink I just locked into my aspiration panel, I'll give you an autograph.
"Awesome!"
"Hey look over there."
Ace Wilde, seriously. You should know that as the simself of the player whose controlling this legacy, I can see you spilling my drink out of that can, even when I'm not looking at you.
The same way I can see that bottle flying through the air all by itself...
... and crashing on the floor.
"Opps. It's not my fault. You only created this town about one sim hour ago... I'm not used to being a mixologist yet."
Ok, now I'll volunteer to look away. Just tell me when that blow torch is safely back in your Mary- Poppins-Pockets*.
*The magical place where sims store the most absurdly large objects and the boundaries of physical space are nowhere to be found.
A quick aspiration boost and it's off to a dance club as there are no vampires in the vampire bar, go figure.
So I read in the forums that the Grind was supposed to be a regular hotspot. Also, apparently my simself feels it necessary to wear a full on tuxedo.
A quick scan reveals that there are no vampires and even less people than there were at Waylon's Haunt. Not wanting to waste my time, I settle for some food, catching Becca Bijou off guard.
Yum, Nachos. Just to let you know, in real life I do sometimes eat nachos with a fork, but only if they're too soggy to eat with my hands.
Note to self; never, ever, ever, go to the bathroom at the Grind again; ever! I feel like I'm getting a disease just looking at this picture!
So to end the night I decided to dance with Lily-Bo Chique because her name is a win.
"Don't you think this club would be so much better if there was actual music playing?"
Yeah, for some reason there was no music at this place...
Anyway, my simself makes it back home before midnight ensuring plenty of time to sleep before work the next day. He dreams about the shiny new house he'll have some day. Hopefully he'll meet a future spouse tomorrow as it's always more fun to have multiple sims hanging around a legacy lot.
The sun is shining and it's time for some juice, the ever dreaded instant meal replacement for my legacy sims.
So Eve, can you take me to Diana Jones' building. She's having a party and I want to crash it.
"Do you think you'll be able to get in?"
Well, I am a level one celebrity and besides, I still haven't met any vampires. There may be some up there.
I put this picture in here because I felt it perfectly captured that awkward feeling of being in an elevator with a complete stranger. I didn't know it at the time, but that's actually Alan Stanley, a level three celebrity and one of my unknown coworkers. I should have introduced myself.
"Oh my gosh! It's the piano Blockette! I didn't know you were going to be here!"
Neither did I Jun.
Some time passed and I got to know the host, Diana Jones.
So Diana, I don't know if you know this, but there are naked celebrities in your hot tub...
Ok, so Jun isn't a celebrity, and Jeffrey Cook has a bathing suit somewhere behind that keyboard, but he was in that hot tub in the buff earlier and he is a level three celebrity!
The next day I discovered why the previous lot on my legacy lot was called the Butterfly Esplanade... because there were butterflies everywhere! I actually don't mind as it makes legacy lawn living a little more beautiful.
So like a whole sim week has gone by and I still haven't found a vampire. Please, random celebrity whose name I didn't record, I know you're not impressed with my low celebrity status, but could you please tell me how to find a vampire.
"Will it make you go away?"
Yes!
"Fine. Just go to this address. I know for a fact that a vampire lives there."
Really? Thank you!
"Now leave me alone!"
*Whistling* I'm ignoring the burglar on my right, I'm ignoring the burglar on my right...
Finally, a vampire!
*In a strong French accent* "You mean she really tried to eat a mounted fish? Très amusant!"
So Morrigan Hemlock, are you single? Because if you are, I can kill two birds with one stone.
"I am sorry, but I am already married and I have a daughter as well."
Oh great.
Some more time passes and I am still a human without a wife. This is not going as well as I had planned. It's time to make an emergency call to Morrigan.
Hello, Morrigan? I really need some help finding a spouse. Do you think you could recommend anyone?
"Why I know just the person. Meet me at Eugi's in one hour and I will introduce her to you."
Thanks for doing this Morrigan.
"No problem 8NiSci8. I wanted to help you with your legacy.”
So who's the girl?
"Ah, she has just arrived. She is the blonde girl right over there."
Hi, I'm 8NiSci8, the new legacy founder in Bridgeport.
"Oh, hello. My name's Matilda. Sorry I'm late, but I was buying some new recipes for work and I...”
....*Love at first sight?*... I don't know how to write that, but they both hit it off immediately.
"So I'm a Pisces and my favorite planet is-"
Saturn?
*Gasp* "Oh my gosh, how did you know?"
Because I'm practically omniscient being a simself. You know what?
"What?"
I think you're the perfect candidate for my legacy. I mean, we've already fallen in love and it's only been about 30 sim minutes. What do you say? Do you want to be my girlfriend?
"Hmmm... I've heard of these legacies. If I say yes, I'll undoubtedly be coerced into doing all sorts of crazy things to gain legacy points, so..."
"Of course, I'm up for the adventure!" *Kissing sounds*
Since my poor simself has been single long enough, I waste no time in romantic-interacting my way up the friendship meter.
So I know we just became significant others today, but I have something I want to ask you...
"Oh my gosh! Your thought bubble!"
Matilda Smart, will you marry me?
"OH MY GOSH! YES!"
Yay! Here you go.
"Oh my gosh, it's so shiny."
"I love you!"
I love you too.
And with that we fell in love and were engaged in a time span that can give even Disney movies a run for their money.
"Don't even think about doing anything to me Harry Marks (creepy name - and apologies if that's your real name, but this guy was starring down my simself's fiancé), I'm married."
About to pass out, I went home and decided to get the legacy 'house' ready for a wedding.
Don't judge my messiness, my simself is barely ever home.
Speaking of messiness, I headed over to the gym once more for a quick shower.
Hey Katelyn Missoni, isn't your family the owner of some fashion house or something in real life?
"Nope, I don't know what you're talking about, but in this game I have my own line of jeans called dragon denim. You should try a pair sometime."
These elevators really bring out the most random pictures.
As soon as I got off the elevator, I spotted the insanely bulky William Fangmann. Whom I tried to befriend immediately. First, you can never have enough vampire friends in a legacy called 'A Vampiric Legacy' and second, he did not look like someone I wanted to be enemies with.
I didn't know vampires could walk around in the daytime.
"Well, we can't. We tend to burn if we're outside too long, but you see we're inside now, so it's ok."
Good to know, I'll have to build a hut before becoming a vampire if I don't want to sizzle all over the place.
Oh and I see you sneaking into my picture Caroline Custard.
So I decided to check out Matilda's apartment before we got married and she had to leave it. Again, tuxedo wear seemed to be the appropriate attire for visiting a friend's house...
And look what I found when I went inside. If this bedroom isn't a sign that we're supposed to be together I don't know what is.
Move along, not much going on here. We're just cuddling as my simself is a proper family oriented sim and would never woohoo before being married. That and I'm also holding out for vampire babies.
So I wanted a day wedding, but between our work schedules, it just didn't happen. We still had the butterflies as a backdrop, though.
Here is where Matilda Smart became Matilda Simself. She is an over emotional, party animal, who is friendly, a light sleeper, and artistic (bonus points for me as that last trait will come in handy when it's portrait painting time). Her lifetime want is to master the painting and guitar skills (also very doable) and her favorites are sushi, classical music, and the color white. She brought $2,358 with here, a part time job as a Beverage Consultant at the spa, and several lovely sellable items in her inventory. All in all, I am very pleased with Matilda's stats.
I immediately built this modest stone hut (eventually I will be building a fitting vampire castle).
And here is the interior in case you wanted to see it.
Now me not thinking ahead, didn't take a picture of Matilda's makeover, but I did get an initial one of her brand new family tattoo.
"8NiSci8, I'm so glad you bought me an easel. I can finally start to work towards my lifetime want."
As an extra surprise, Matilda came with two painting skills already included. I am so happy that my simself and her met. Thank you Morrigan!
We spent the next few days skilling, waiting for a vampire to turn one of us. It's not like we weren't friends with them either, they just never wanted to come over.
My simself finally got to take a shower in his own home.
"How am I supposed to fix this toilet if there's a naked man in the shower?"
Calm down repair woman whose name I also forgot to record ( I was doing so well in the beginning), but this shower is long overdue and the glass is blurred and I'm pixilated, so you can barely even see me.
"Hey 8NiSci8, long time no see?"
I know, I've been so busy getting married that I forgot to mention my promotion to Key Grip. I get to lug heavy film equipment all around the set.
Meanwhile, Matilda finally gets a vampire to come over. Her former roommate turned vampire by story progression Alexy Fresco. (Quick side note Diana Jones from the party I crashed has also been turned by NPC vampires at this point).
"Alexy, I really need to be a vampire, so I can turn my husband, the founder of this legacy into a vampire. Can you please turn me?"
"Sure."
"Oh... I didn't think it would feel like this..."
"How do you feel Matilda?"
"Dizzy..."
So two or three days later, Matilda was walking though our hut when this happened.
"Umm... what is all of this red smoke for?"
"Holy smokes! What the freak?"
"I wanted to be a vampire, not Cyclopes!"
"Oh great, now I'm levitating. This is not what I was expecting."
"Hmm... I feel strange..."
"Oh... it's over."
And this is what the first vampire in my Vampiric legacy ended up looking like. Very nice.
I came home that night and discovered that Matilda was hungry after her transformation.
*Shivers* Honey, are all of these bats really necessary?
While I was waiting to transform, I got to work on writing my novel for the Storyteller handicap...
...and Matilda got to quit her job. She's going to be working on her painting skills for now and completing that spa career doesn't earn us points unless it's done by a teenager.
A day later and 'My Wife Bit Me - A True Story' is completed! Now 'real me' just has to upload this story to the internet and the Storyteller handicap will be completed for this generation.
But before that...
I don't feel so well.
Ouch! My eyes, they feel like they're on fire!
I'm levitating!
More transformation pictures because I think they look so cool!
I'm almost there...
That was quick.
And welcome vampire number two into the Vampiric legacy.
With all of generation one turned, it's time to start wrapping up this chapter.
Matilda, that was a very long and information packed first chapter we just completed and I haven't even been promoted past level two of my career yet...
Do you think I'll be able to balance work, being a vampire, and kids all in the next chapter?
"Of course you will, you're a simself! I'm sure you'll be able to do it. And you'll have me to help too."
And this is where I'll end this chapter. Thank you so much if you made it all the way to slide 92! I usually plan for them to be around 80 slides, but there was so much new stuff to do in this expansion pack! Anyway, stay tuned for the next chapter where you'll get to meet generation two, I'll hopefully get promoted, and Matilda will paint some family portraits. Thanks again!
8NiSci8 ;)

8NiSci8 ;)
